    Large commercial banks are losing money, while state banks are earning more money

    According to the financial statements submitted by commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan, they earned 24 billion 844 million KGS of net profit (balanced profit) for nine months. If compared to the same period last year, this is 6.5 billion KGS more.

    State-owned Aiyl Bank earned 5.8 billion KGS and private Mbank - 5.6 billion KGS.
    “Eldik Bank and Bakai Bank earned 3.4 billion KGS and 2.5 billion KGS respectively. Also “Optima Bank” (1.8 billion KGS), KICB (1.7 billion KGS) and “Demir Bank” (1.6 billion KGS) made a billion profit.

    JSCB Tolubai (26.4 mln KGS) and FinanceCreditBank KAB (25.2 mln KGS) have the least net income. At the same time, Eurasian Savings Bank also lost money. The loss amounted to 85.1 million KGS, although in the first nine months of last year the bank's profit was estimated at 23.3 million KGS.

    Compared to the first nine months of 2023, apart from Mbank (+2.9 bln KGS), state banks - Eldik Bank (+1.9 bln KGS), Aiyl Bank (+1.8 bln KGS), as well as Keremet Bank (Author's note - which has not officially confirmed the information about the change of shareholder in the person of the Ministry of Finance) - increased their net profit by 326.2 mln KGS. Next in terms of net profit growth are KICB (+310.7 million KGS) and Bakai Bank (+238.2 million KGS).

    At the same time, net profit indicators of six banks, excluding Eurasian Savings Bank, significantly decreased (-1.5 billion KGS). Optima Bank's profit decreased most of all, by more than half a billion KGS (-533.4 million KGS), and Demir Bank - by 279.8 million KGS.

    It should be noted that operations with foreign currency and commissions remained the main item of banks' income in the period under review.
