Getting into capital, securities, startups, new projects, grant programs: outcomes of the RKDF Council meeting

The Council of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund summarized the results of 2023 and the first half of 2024 and approved key strategic decisions. The RKDF financed a record number of projects worth $160 million in 2023, and in the first nine months of 2024 invested more than $100 million in the Kyrgyz economy. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase this amount to $140 million.

The meeting approved the funding of strategically important energy projects, including the construction of HPPs “Kulanak” and “Jerui”, as well as the solar plant “Unigreen Energy”.

The Fund will allocate $100 million for these purposes, which will significantly reduce the energy deficit and give an impetus to the development of the industry.

In addition, the RKDF approved the new investment policy, which includes work with securities, startups and venture capital investments. This will give businesses more opportunities to interact with the Fund, receiving support for growth and expansion.

"The Fund's efficiency is growing. Its performance for 2023 and the first half of 2024 demonstrates that it is one of the key players in the local market,” said Timur Maksimov, Chairman of the RKDF Council.

Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy and Commerce, Daniyar Amangeldiev, also praised the fund's contribution, noting that “the RKDF is making a huge contribution to our economy” by supporting more than 35% of the 100 new businesses planned to open in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast.

The foundation continues its modernization, planning to complete the second phase related to corporate governance and the expansion of grant programs.

“In addition, it is planned to complete the second stage of modernization and structuring of the RKDF - to adopt documents related to corporate governance within the foundation, the powers of the board, to consider the issues of supporting partners by increasing the volume of grant programs, we are moving step by step to achieve the goals laid down in the strategy of the foundation until 2027”, - emphasized Chairman of the Board, Artem Novikov.
