During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh today, 13 November, MP Dastan Bekeshev drew attention to the inefficient use of drinking water by car washes in the country. 

He stressed that, unlike international practice, where water is used repeatedly at car washes, it is used once in Kyrgyzstan. In the deputy's words, this is a serious problem that requires an immediate solution.

The deputy proposed to amend the Water Code to oblige car washes to switch to multiple water use. He asked Almazbek Sokeev, Head of the Water Resources Service, about the possibility of implementing such an initiative. He replied that multiple water use could be introduced in at least three major cities of Kyrgyzstan.
