Thanks to the social contract, more than 163 thousand people were able to start their own business

Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshanbek Sabirov visited low-income families of Alamudun district participating in the Social Contract programme.

The programme, initiated by President Sadyr Zhaparov in 2022, is aimed at overcoming poverty and supporting low-income families. For three years, more than 35 thousand families across the country have signed social contracts with the state, 221 of them in Alamudun district.

Within the framework of the visit, the Minister got acquainted with successful examples of the programme implementation. Mederbek Abdyldabekov's family, for example, signed a contract to open a food shop. To expand the business, the family additionally received an interest-free loan of KGS 100 thousand. Today, the couple work together and receive a stable income of up to 30,000 KGS per month.

Another successful example is Roza Tashmatova, who used the 100,000 KGS she received to buy two sewing machines and create additional jobs.

«I used the profit to buy two more sewing machines. During the season, my income increases significantly», — she said.

Today her monthly income is up to 30,000 KGS.

«We are conducting monitoring on the instructions of the head of state to study the effectiveness of social contracts. The main goal is to assess their usefulness to citizens and to help create jobs. Such a task has been set for all districts», —  Ravshanbek Sabirov noted.

He also noted that thanks to the social contract more than 163 thousand people have improved their living conditions. This is real help, which stimulates initiative and creates opportunities for a stable income.

The Social Contract programme continues to work actively, giving low-income families a chance to gain financial independence and stability.

The Minister is planning visits to the regions to familiarise himself with the activities of the territorial units. During his visits, he will learn about the results of the implementation of the Social Contract programme.
