This refers to the regulations ‘On the safety of oil prepared for transportation and (or) use’ (TR EAEU 045/2017) and ‘On the safety of natural combustible gas prepared for transportation and (or) use’ (TR EAEU 046/2018), which were previously due to expire in 2024.
According to the amendments, the transition period for oil has been extended until 1 January 2027. For natural gas, the transitional provisions will remain in force until the international treaty enters into force on establishing the union's common gas market, but not later than 1 January 2030.
These changes were introduced in the decisions of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission on 6 March 2018 and 19 March 2019. The deadline extension was initiated by Russia and Kazakhstan.
