European Investment Bank confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation on the Kambarata HPP-1 project

The European Investment Bank confirmed its readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to develop its energy potential. This was stated by EIB Vice President Kyriakos Kakouris during a meeting with Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev on December 6.

The main issue of the talks was to discuss Kambarata HPP-1 as a strategic project aimed at increasing energy security, improving water management, as well as strengthening regional cooperation and the transition to clean energy in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.

The meeting resulted in the signing of the Vienna Communiqué “Unlocking Investment Potential for a Green Future for Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia”, which was an expression of the EIB's willingness to further cooperate in the implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

The European Investment Bank is also part of the Donor Coordination Committee for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1, which emphasizes the importance of its involvement in this project.
