Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliyev held a meeting with Daniel Drew, Managing Director and Chief of Staff of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Hong Kong. The meeting was held on the margins of the Asian Financial Forum, held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China).

During the talks the prospects of establishing correspondent relations between Kyrgyz and international banks were discussed, as well as the possibilities of deepening cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and HSBC (author's note - one of the world's largest banking and financial conglomerates).

Adylbek Kasymaliev expressed interest in developing partnership with HSBC, noting that Kyrgyz commercial banks operate in accordance with international standards, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Basel principles of banking supervision. He emphasized that all Kyrgyz banks undergo an annual independent audit by leading international audit companies.

In turn, Daniel Drew said that HSBC is interested in expanding its presence in Central Asia and sees great potential for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting ended with discussion of prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
