02/04/2025, 09:48Kyrgyzstan's banks are no longer the most profitable. According to this indicator, they are behind financial and credit organizations in Kazakhstan and Armenia, while overtaking banks in Belarus and Russia.
According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, in the middle of 2024, the return on assets of banks in Kyrgyzstan (i.e. how effectively banks earn on their resources) is 4.28%. By comparison, Kazakhstan's ROA is 4.52% and Armenia's is 4.46%.
At the same time, Kyrgyz banks are twice ahead of Russian banks (2.13%) and 1.78 times ahead of Belarusian banks (2.4%).
Back in late 2022, the return on assets of Kyrgyz banks amounted to 5.86%. This was not only a record indicator since 2014 in Kyrgyzstan, but also in the EAEU.
