11/27/2024, 20:52Today, November 27, President Sadyr Zhaparov met with the head of Airbus Europe Johan Pelissier in Berlin.
During the conversation, the head of state expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to develop partnership relations with Airbus, noting the high level of technology and standards set by the company in the field of global aviation.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the development of the aviation industry is one of the key priorities for our country. He noted the importance of already implemented projects, including the purchase of aircrafts at the expense of the republican budget, which are successfully used in the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the meeting, the President paid special attention to the prospects of supporting the national airline “Asman Airlines”, emphasizing the renewal of the aircraft fleet and the introduction of modern technologies. He spoke about plans to lease two Airbus aircrafts of A320 or A321 model in the first phase of cooperation, which will be used for flights to Europe, including Bishkek - Paris, Bishkek - Berlin and Bishkek - London.
Sadyr Zhaparov said that next year Kyrgyz airlines are expected to be removed from the so-called black list of the European Union (EU Air Safety List). This will be the result of active work to improve aviation safety, which has been carried out in recent years in the country, as well as the introduction of international standards and modernization of infrastructure.
All this has significantly increased the chances of lifting the restrictions. The head of state noted that removal from this list will open new opportunities for direct flights to Europe.
In case of successful operation it is planned to further expand the air fleet in cooperation with Airbus in the second phase.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the partnership with Airbus will be an important step in the development of the aviation industry of the country, and noted the readiness for substantive negotiations for further expansion of cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the President invited Johan Pelissier to visit Kyrgyzstan in the near future to continue the dialog directly with representatives of the aviation industry of the country.
