Kyrgyzstan has increased its foreign debt coverage by gold and foreign exchange reserves

Kyrgyzstan's gold and foreign exchange reserves cover 33.3% of the total external debt. The Eurasian Economic Commission made such calculations as of 1 July this year.

Over the year, the foreign debt coverage by international reserves in the republic increased by 9.5 percentage points, from 23.8%. It should be noted that except for Armenia, where the provision of debt with reserves decreased, all countries showed an increase in this indicator. Russia is in first place by its growth, + 25.7 percentage points,  the highest annual increase.

In Kazakhstan and Belarus, external debt coverage has increased by 2.8 percentage points and 1.7 percentage points, respectively.

Thus, high coverage of external debt by international reserves is ensured only in Russia (196.6%). In other member states this indicator ranged from 21.7% to 33.3%. Kyrgyzstan has the second-highest indicator of external debt reserves coverage.
