11/17/2024, 12:25Over the past week, commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan acquired $80.75 million on the interbank currency market. Of this amount, $45.7 million were purchased with same-day settlement, while $35.05 million were acquired with deferred settlement terms.
The largest single-day volume occurred on November 14, when banks purchased $69.35 million. This surge was largely supported by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, which intervened by selling $68.65 million to stabilize the som's exchange rate against the dollar.
During the week, the U.S. dollar traded in the range of 86.2 to 86.5 KGS. By the end of the week, trading closed with the dollar appreciating 0.35% from the opening rate.
