11/06/2024, 08:56In the course of the state visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Labour, Social Insurance and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey on November 5.
The document aims to strengthen partnerships in the field of migration, including the implementation of joint projects, and the exchange of information and experience in issues related to mixed migration flows. The parties agreed to take measures to encourage legal migration, jointly develop projects to implement migration policy and organise monitoring to prevent illegal migration.
In addition, the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey plan to cooperate in controlling the number of illegal foreign labour forces and implementing initiatives to strengthen the institutional capacity of migration authorities.
