03/11/2025, 08:31In Kyrgyzstan, 55 thousand 494 low-income families pay for electricity at a reduced tariff, reported the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration.
Since 2022, on the initiative of the President, families receiving the “ү-bulө kөmөk” allowance are entitled to a reduced tariff. Until June 2024, for consumption up to 700 kWh per month, it was 50 tuyns, and then increased to 55.4 tuyns.
According to the Ministry of Labor, the coverage of targeted social support in the form of preferential tariffs for electricity is 94.9%.
“The main reason for low-income families not receiving preferential tariffs is the lack of personal personal accounts for electricity due to living in rented apartments, in dacha settlements, in industrial premises, and there are also families living without electricity. Territorial services of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration are conducting explanatory work with families,” the ministry said.
