10/01/2024, 07:30The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the municipalities of Bishkek and Cheongju (Korea) took place in the capital's City Hall. The document, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, was signed by Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov and his colleague Shin Beng Dae.
The purpose of the memorandum is to expand partnership ties between the two cities and exchange knowledge and experience in urban planning, ecology, infrastructure, education and culture. The document also provides for economic cooperation development under joint projects in tourism, trade and investment.
During the meeting, Azamat Kadyrov emphasised the importance of a mutually beneficial partnership with Cheongju and expressed readiness to develop bilateral initiatives. He noted that Bishkek is open to new projects to improve social, cultural and urban infrastructure, including in transport and utilities.
Shin Beng Dae, in turn, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted that the signed memorandum will become the basis for further cooperation in tourism, business and transport.
Both sides noted the productivity of the meeting and expressed hope for strengthening ties between the cities.
To add, Cheongju is the administrative centre of Chungcheong-Pukdo Province in South Korea, an important transport hub with a population of about 850,000 people.
