    State Tax Service officers seized 1,820 packets of cigarettes without excise stamps

    Employees of the State Tax Service in the course of tax raid control revealed illegal tobacco products in the market ‘Bereke’ of Jalal-Abad city.

    In particular, 1 thousand 820 packs of tobacco products totalling more than 200 thousand 200 KGS were seized at one of the market outlets. The products did not have excise stamps and relevant accompanying documents.

    On this fact, initial procedural documents were drawn up on the spot in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the materials were transferred to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.

    Recall that the sale of up to 1 thousand units of cigarettes without excise stamps is punishable by a fine of 65 thousand KGS, and the sale of more than 1 thousand units is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years.

    The Tax Service urges entrepreneurs not to sell tobacco products without excise stamps and to carefully check the authenticity and compliance of the excise stamp.
    Measures to detect illegal storage and sale of tobacco products are carried out on a regular basis throughout the country.
