The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan plans to significantly simplify the process of obtaining permits for transportation of heavy and oversized cargo. If earlier transportation companies had to wait up to 10 days, now all approvals will take place electronically in just 3 hours.

Today, April 3, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic has submitted the advising resolution for discussion.

Now, as stated by the authors of the amendments, trucking companies are faced with paperwork and lengthy approvals, which causes congestion of trucks at the borders of “Irkeshtam” and “Torugart”. Thus, in 2024, 8 thousand 256 such special permits were issued, and this figure continues to increase with the growth of production.

If the changes are adopted, everything will become faster and more convenient: documents can be drawn up online, and payment can be made through mobile applications. Approval of the special permit will take place through the Tunduk system of interdepartmental electronic interaction, which will speed up the process. Authorized bodies in the field of road safety, as well as services of electric transport, power grids and communications will be able to coordinate transportation within 3 hours. After that, the Ministry of Transport and Communications will issue a permit at transport control points after weighing and measuring the parameters of vehicles.

In addition, the authorities reviewed the amount of charges for damage to roads and decided to reduce them, taking into account the appeals of carriers. All changes are aimed at creating more comfortable conditions for business and speeding up cargo transportation across Kyrgyzstan and EAEU countries.
