    In Kyrgyzstan, the number of low-income families has decreased by almost 32%

    In Kyrgyzstan under the project of social contract is successfully implemented as an effective model of poverty alleviation. This was said by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

    "Under the project ‘Social Contract’ for three years more than 31 thousand families received non-refundable assistance in the amount of 100 thousand soms. For these purposes, 3.1 billion soms were allocated. As of October 1, 2024, the number of low-income families decreased from 111 thousand in 2021 to 76.4 thousand,” he said.

    Akylbek Zhaparov also noted that the state provided people with disabilities in need of care with the services of personal assistants, the salary of assistants increased by almost 23%.

    "Our President emphasizes that every child in Kyrgyzstan should be under the care of the state and gives new directions in this area. Since June 1, 2024, the state deposit “Kelechekke salym” for round orphans has been introduced, which ensures the payment of at least 500 thousand soms to each of them upon reaching the age of 18,” he added.
