    Kyrgyzstan discusses introduction of preferential financing for women entrepreneurs

    In Kyrgyzstan, the expansion of opportunities for women entrepreneurs was discussed. Within the framework of the meeting of the Advisory Council on Women's Entrepreneurship in the Ministry of Economy summarized the results of the Program to support women's business since 2022 and outlined plans for 2025, including the creation of new conditions for women's involvement in the country's economy.

    The event was chaired by Deputy Minister Gulshat Asylbayeva. The meeting was also attended by members of the Jogorku Kenesh, representatives of government agencies and business associations, as well as the coalition “Demilgelү Aymdar”, which is actively working on the development of women's entrepreneurship.

    One of the most important proposals was the introduction of preferential financing for women entrepreneurs. The participants discussed the possibility of allocating a separate item in the national budget aimed exclusively at supporting women's business, as well as the publication of gender statistics in the business sector for more transparent monitoring of the situation.

    MP Kamila Talieva noted that Kyrgyzstan was the first country in Central Asia to legislate the concept of “women's entrepreneurship. This opens new horizons for women in business. She emphasized the importance of continued government support to increase women's employment in the economy, including through targeted funding from the budget.

    Special attention was paid to the difference in opportunities for women entrepreneurs in urban and rural areas. Aisarkan Abdieva proposed to focus on supporting women in the regions, providing them with access to training courses and various assistance that will help develop business in remote areas.

    In turn, Dinara Ashimova emphasized the need to introduce Islamic finance, which will allow women to obtain loans without collateral, which is an important step in expanding opportunities for businesswomen. She proposed to take this approach into account in the next edition of the program to support women's business.

    Finally, the meeting emphasized the need to expand the Advisory Board to include active women entrepreneurs. This will allow to more accurately and effectively take into account the needs of business in this area.

    The meeting ended with the adoption of a protocol with recommendations aimed at creating conditions for empowering women in business and improving their access to financing and training.
