11/13/2024, 12:45Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan believe it is necessary to develop trade ties. Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev held talks with the head of the Cabinet of Turkmenistan.
They highlighted the issue of increasing cargo traffic through the Caspian Sea, which has great potential for creating effective logistics both regionally and internationally.
“In this regard, the organization of multimodal cargo transportation along the route Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Russian Federation or through the port of Alyat (Azerbaijan) in the direction of European countries is being considered,” the Cabinet said.
As the parties noted, the implementation of this route will contribute to strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, expanding opportunities for the transportation of goods both within the region and for their export to Europe.
Also, in order to intensify the use of opportunities of the international sea port “Turkmenbashi” by Kyrgyz carriers in transportation through the Caspian Sea, the options of light tariffs for all types of transport and services of the port were considered.
