More than 8 billion KGS in interest-free loans were issued to businesses within the framework of the emergency support project

For the entire period of the emergency support project for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, businesses have received from the Ministry of Finance more than 8 billion soms in the form of interest-free loans.

Since the launch of the program and up to November 1, 2024, the amount of interest-free loans issued amounted to 8 billion 20.3 million KGS. 10 thousand 949 entrepreneurs received support.

Interest-free loans under the program are divided into two categories. The first category covers entrepreneurs receiving loans up to 1 million KGS. It affected 9 thousand 323 entrepreneurs who received 5 billion 523 million KGS. The second category includes loans up to 3 million KGS and is focused on larger businesses. For a total amount of 2 billion 497 million KGS, 1 thousand 626 entrepreneurs received support.

We would like to add that the program of emergency business support started in Kyrgyzstan at the end of March 2021 and will run until July 2027. Thus, business today can still apply for an interest-free loan. Thus, up to 1 million KGS can get physical persons with an annual turnover of up to 8 million KGS and work experience of at least 6 months, up to 3 million KGS - individuals and legal entities with a turnover of up to 30 million KGS and similar work experience.

Recall, the project is designed to support small and medium-sized businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money for its implementation was provided by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank within the framework of anti-crisis measures of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
