Another 31 settlements were added to the list of mountain villages

Today, 21 April, the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament approved the list of villages located in the highlands of Kyrgyzstan. This list was proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Minister of Labour and Social Protection Ravshanbek Sabirov said that the list was updated by a special commission. It added 31 new villages located above 1,800 metres above sea level.

During the discussion, MP Sovbek Rustambek uulu clarified what benefits the residents of such villages are entitled to. And MP Emil Toktoshev asked why this list is approved by a government decree and not by a separate law. He noted that in the distribution of benefits it is important to observe fairness: sometimes it happens that one village is included in the list, and the neighbouring one is not, although the difference in height between them is only 10-20 metres.

MP Balbak Tulobayev also proposed to restore geodetic points (these are points used for precise measurements on maps), as well as to update the equipment of the state agency, which deals with land issues and cartography.
