01/09/2025, 11:03Owners of gold bullion bars in Kyrgyzstan received tangible income in the first weeks of the new year. According to the National Bank, the cost of a troy ounce of gold (31.1035 grams) for redemption amounted to 234 thousand 92.5 KGS as of January 9.
This is 4 thousand 398 KGS more than on December 31, 2024, when the redemption price was 229 thousand 694.5 KGS.
For nine days, the yield on gold amounted to 1.9%. For comparison, the monthly yield on a deposit with an annual rate of 16% ranges from 1.29% to 1.33%. This emphasizes the attractiveness of gold as an investment instrument.
At the same time, those who only plan to buy gold bars will also have to pay more. The cost of a troy ounce for sale rose from 233 thousand 140 KGS (December 31, 2024) to 237 thousand 604 KGS as of January 9, adding 4 thousand 464 KGS.
