CJSC “Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank” (KICB) was founded in 2001 by the Kyrgyz Republic and international financial institutions such as the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the German Investment and Development Corporation (DEG).

Today, the shareholders are the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) – 72% of shares, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) – 18% and the State Agency for State Property Management under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – 10%.

KICB is the first bank in Kyrgyzstan to issue bonds and open an electronic wallet and also the first bank to have a strategic partnership and correspondent relations with Citibank, USA. Being one of the largest banks in Kyrgyzstan with an authorized capital of over 23 million US dollars, a branch network of 57 divisions, the bank is represented in all regions of the country and provides the population with convenient banking products and services.

• The project to support women entrepreneurs “Mykty Aiym” jointly with the EBRD.

• The program of planting trees in schools and preschool institutions “Green Foundation”, within the framework of which thousands of trees are planted annually.

• The Kwang Young Choi Scholarship Project named after the first Chairman of the Board of the Bank to support the education of students in universities in Kyrgyzstan.
