A number of activities are planned under the EDB TCF project, the implementation of which will ensure capacity building of the public sector in PPPs and reduce the shortage of qualified PPP specialists in the country.
The PPP Centre will launch a PPP training programme consisting of a «PPP Basic Course», «PPP Advanced Course» and «Private PPP Initiative School».
About 200 representatives of state and local authorities and organisations authorised in the field of PPP, as well as private (investment) companies will be able to participate in PPP-trainings. KRSU is planning to introduce an academic discipline «Public-Private Partnership», which complies with international standards and is based on practical experience in financing PPP projects, as well as EDB's PPP scholarship programme to support talented KRSU students interested in participating in research and expanding PPP practice in Kyrgyzstan. A «Country Review of PPP Development in the Kyrgyz Republic» will be jointly prepared.
The TCF project is scaling up the Bank's best practice in Armenia, where EDB has successfully implemented a similar project in partnership with the Russian-Armenian Slavic University.
