03/13/2025, 11:43Kyrgyzstan's economy is showing strong growth due to strong domestic demand and investment activity. According to the Eurasian Development Bank, in January 2025, the country's gross domestic product increased by 10.6% in annual terms, which is higher than in 2024, when growth amounted to 9%.
The services sector accounted for more than 50% of economic growth.
Domestic consumption and investment remain the main drivers of economic growth. Trade made the largest contribution to GDP dynamics with 4.2 percentage points, while the services sector, excluding trade, contributed another 2.5 percentage points. Investment activity also continues to grow strongly, increasing by 38.3% y-o-y.
Inflation remains within the target range of 5-7%, which allows the National Bank to keep the discount rate at 9%. The state budget of the country was formed with a surplus, which was facilitated by the growth of tax revenues.
“The economy of Kyrgyzstan will continue its active development, and GDP growth by the end of 2025 will amount to 8.7%. The main factors of accelerated growth remain consumer demand and investment activity”, - forecasts EDB.
