He said that Kyrgyzstan should pay special attention to water resources because, in addition to providing water for itself, the republic provides water for four other countries, such as China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Today's forum is also attended by representatives of government agencies, the World Bank, international organisations such as the UN and UNESCO, as well as international experts from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Serbia and other countries.
The aim of the forum is the rational use of water resources of the Kyrgyz Republic and the preservation of Lake Issyk-Kul under climate change conditions.
The forum is an important platform for sharing experience and developing specific recommendations on the rational use of water resources and the protection of the lake.
Lake Issyk-Kul, being one of the largest and most beautiful high-mountain lakes in the world, is not only an important ecological object, but also a significant resource for the local population and the country's economy. Nevertheless, it faces many threats, including climate change, water pollution, overuse of natural resources and deterioration of the ecosystem.
It is worth noting that this year's National Water Forum is being held for the second time; the first one was held last year.
