Employees of the Department for Combating Smuggling, Drug Trafficking and Violations of Customs Rules revealed facts of false declaration of cargo vehicles - HOWO tractor units - arriving from the People's Republic of China to the customs territory of the EAEU.

It was established that certain participants of foreign economic activity resorted to deceptive actions in order to evade customs payments. In particular, they used methods of substitution of factory stickers and submission of false documents, as a result of which the year of manufacture of vehicles was deliberately overstated. This affected the calculation of the customs value and reduced the amount of customs duties payable.

The damage to the state budget totalled more than 13.7 million KGS. Materials on the case were transferred to the Investigation Department of the State Customs Service.
