04/23/2025, 15:54On the margins of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Jasser. The discussion centered on strengthening partnership in key areas: energy development and provision of clean water to the population.
Adylbek Kasymaliev called cooperation with the IDB strategically important for the sustainable growth of Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the bank's contribution to the implementation of national priorities and expressed gratitude for the support.
The parties paid special attention to the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers spoke about the current stage of preparation: completion of the feasibility study and development of an intergovernmental agreement with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The HPP is seen as a key to the country's energy independence and the balance of water resources in the region.
In turn, Dr. Al-Jasser confirmed the interest of the IDB in deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. He noted the importance of infrastructure projects for improving the quality of life and proposed to establish joint technical groups to work on promising initiatives.
The meeting ended with the signing of bilateral documents that marked a new stage of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Islamic Development Bank.
