01/11/2025, 09:12The Eurasian Economic Commission has presented data on average life expectancy in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The leader among the member states of the Union is Armenia, while Kyrgyzstan is the last in this indicator.
According to the data for 2023, life expectancy in the EAEU countries (excluding Belarus) amounted to 74.5 years. Armenia is the leader with 77.7 years. In second place is Kazakhstan, where life expectancy is 75.09 years, and in third place is Russia with 73.41 years. Kyrgyzstan, with a life expectancy of 71.9 years, is in last place.
The gap is particularly marked between men and women. The average life expectancy of men in Kyrgyzstan is 68.2 years, 5.9 years less than in Armenia, 2.79 years less than in Kazakhstan, and only 0.16 years longer than in Russia. Women in Kyrgyzstan live an average of 76.3 years, which is 4.7 years less than Armenian women (81 years), 2.76 years less than Kazakh women, and 2.44 years less than Russian women.
For Belarus, life expectancy data is available only for 2019. Then the indicator was 74.47 years, of which men lived an average of 69.25 years, and women - 79.38 years.
It should be noted that since 2014 all EAEU countries have experienced an increase in life expectancy. Kazakhstan recorded the largest increase - by 3.65 years.In Armenia, the indicator increased by 2.7 years, in Russia - by 2.48 years, in Kyrgyzstan - by 1.5 years.
In Belarus, according to data for 2019, the growth since 2014 amounted to 1.27 years.
