11/07/2024, 08:34The Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Maxim Yermolovich, paid a working visit to Bishkek. Within the framework of his visit, he held a series of bilateral meetings with key representatives of the Kyrgyz Government.
The talks were attended by Minister of Finance Almaz Baketaev, Minister of Digital Development Nuria Kutnaeva, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Gulshat Asylbaeva, Deputy Minister of Finance Ulugbek Kalendorov, Chairman of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service Zhenaly Orozbayev and Director of the State Procurement Department Bek Abdyrakhmanov.
The discussion covered various aspects of public procurement within the Eurasian Economic Union, including analysing the legislation of member countries for compliance with the Union's law and advancing a plan for mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures for public procurement. The issues of statistical reporting and EAEU legislation improvement were also on the agenda.
One of the key items on the agenda was the implementation of the Action Plan to establish fair tariffs for mobile communication services in international roaming within the Union. Also discussed were initiatives on competition assessment and planned sectoral studies of commodity markets by 2025 with a focus on anti-dumping measure application.
The meetings included a presentation of the ‘Competition Law in the EAEU’ programme and plans to hold a conference on digital markets and competition promotion. Special attention was paid to the public reception role for dialogue with Kyrgyz businesses on competition and public procurement, which, according to the participants, contributes to the efficiency of cross-border EAEU markets.
