The Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Absattar Syrgabaev held a meeting with a Chinese delegation headed by the Governor of Ak-Suu Administrative District of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Adili Aili. The main topic of discussion was the development of transport infrastructure and increasing the capacity of border crossing points.

The parties discussed the modernisation of the recently opened border crossing point ‘Bedel’ and the importance of the implementation of the road project ‘Bedel - Barskoon - Uchturpan - Aksuu’. Minister Syrgabayev noted the growth of freight traffic between the two countries and emphasised the need to further develop cooperation in this area.

Governor Aili expressed interest in continuing joint projects and reiterated the importance of infrastructure initiatives to strengthen trade and economic ties. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan.
