04/28/2025, 11:18The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic will put into circulation a silver collector coin “80 Years of the Great Victory” on April 28, 2025. The issue is timed to coincide with the significant date of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The coin continues the “Historical Events” series. The obverse features a stylized number “80” in the form of a festive salute, a star, and a bouquet of red carnations symbolizing mourning and respect for the fallen. The inscription “Uluu Zhenishke – 80 zhyl / 80 Years of the Great Victory” is engraved around the circumference. The reverse side features the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic, the dates “1945” and “2025,” and flying doves as a symbol of peace and freedom. The silver fineness (Ag 925), year of issue, and weight of the coin (28.28 grams) are also indicated.
According to the National Bank, more than 150,000 Kyrgyz citizens received awards for their courage during the war, 74 people were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 34 became cavaliers of the Orders of Glory of all three degrees. The memory of the veterans' heroism and self-sacrifice remains a living value for the entire people of Kyrgyzstan.
