    Russia has extended the legalization period for foreign citizens, including Kyrgyz citizens

    On April 28, 2025, Presidential Decree No. 272 was published in Russia, extending the period for regulating the legal status of foreign citizens, including citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.

    Now, it is possible to legalize one's stay in Russia until September 10, 2025 (previously, the deadline was April 30). This applies to those who violated the rules of stay between January 1 and September 10, 2025.

    Kyrgyz citizens included in the Register of Controlled Persons can regularize their status without having to leave Russia. To do this, you need to:

    • submit an application to the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation;
    • attach a copy of your employment or civil law contract certified by your employer;
    • undergo mandatory fingerprinting, photography, and medical examination;
    • have no outstanding debts on mandatory payments.

    When submitting an application, a fine may be imposed, but without administrative expulsion.

    The Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia reminds you to strictly follow the rules for staying in the country and to contact the right authorities on time to avoid serious consequences.
