09/13/2024, 12:38During the VI Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, a panel session titled "Trade and Investment Potential of the Kyrgyz Republic's Garment and Textile Industry" took place. The session was moderated by Natalia Mironova, Head of Business Programs and Moderator of Educational Seminars at PROfashion. The primary goal of the session was to discuss opportunities for Russian investments in the Kyrgyz textile sector, as well as to examine current trends and innovations in the industry. The session gathered experts and representatives from key industry organizations, including Tatyana Belkevich, President of the Russian Association of Fashion Industry Participants; Urmat Takirov, Director of the Kyrgyz Export Development and Promotion Center "Kyrgyz Export"; and Asel Atabekova, founder of the Selya group of companies and member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic. Participants discussed the key challenges and prospects for the development of the textile industry in Kyrgyzstan, with special attention given to opportunities for expanding exports and implementing modern technologies. Additionally, the session addressed state support measures and investment projects aimed at stimulating industry development. A crucial aspect of the discussion was sustainable production and ecological standards in the textile industry. Participants emphasized the importance of transitioning to more eco-friendly production methods and integrating sustainable practices, which would help Kyrgyz companies conquer new markets and meet international standards. The panel session concluded with a call to strengthen partnerships between Kyrgyz and Russian entrepreneurs and further develop cooperation in the textile sector. Participants expressed their readiness to work together in creating a favorable business climate and enhancing their positions in international markets.
