11/27/2024, 09:00The Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry has received funding of 5.04 billion KGS for ten months of 2024. The clarified budget of the service is 9.1 billion KGS, of which 3.7 billion are budgetary funds and 1.96 billion are allocated for capital investments. The funds have been allocated for repair and modernisation of water facilities across the country.
For repair and rehabilitation works in 2024, 1 billion KGS were allocated, of which 770.5 million KGS were financed. These funds made it possible to clean and restore 561.4 kilometres of canals, repair 567 hydraulic structures and replace 23 pumping units. Also, 10 water bodies and 103.5 kilometres of collector-drainage networks were cleaned.
In Chui oblast, 350 million KGS were envisaged for reconstruction, of which 171.9 million KGS were financed. These funds are being used to clean the Agermen reservoir, the Rassvet canal and the Nizhnyaya Ala-Archa dam. These projects are scheduled to be completed by 2025 to ensure reliable water supply in the regions.
Works on rehabilitation of irrigation facilities in other regions of the country are also progressing on schedule. Major activities were completed in the spring of 2024, allowing irrigation water supply in Batken, Osh, Jalal-Abad and other provinces. Construction works are underway at 10 sites, including construction of canals and rehabilitation of wells.
