According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Temir Jolu National Company, the construction of the Balykchy - Kochkor railroad is actively underway in Kochkor district of Naryn oblast. To date, 35 km of railroad track has already been built, work is underway on rail and sleeper laying, as well as the construction of culverts. 

The project includes drilling and blasting works to eliminate natural obstacles on 6 km long sections.

More than 100 workers and 60 units of special equipment are involved in the construction. The project is being implemented by the Kyrgyz Temir Jolu National Company at its own expense.

The Balykchy - Kochkor - Kara-Keche - Makmal railroad has strategic importance for the transportation infrastructure improvement and economic development of the region. This route will reduce the time of cargo delivery and will become an important element in establishing the unified railway network in the country.
