11/28/2024, 15:54The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration has launched a pilot on youth internship in 30 districts of the republic. This is reported by the press service of the ministry.
As explained in the ministry, the purpose of youth internship is to acquire practical experience, consolidate professional knowledge and skills, learn best practices, acquire life skills, and expand employment opportunities for young people.
“According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, as of October 1 this year, more than 22 thousand unemployed citizens are registered in employment agencies. According to the National Statistical Committee, among all the unemployed, more than 56% are young people. In order to promote the employment of unemployed youth, a set of measures on youth internship is being implemented. Within the framework of the pilot, it is planned to send 3,000 young people to internships to gain practical experience and professional skills, as well as to short-term vocational training. To motivate participation in the internship, participants will be paid a stipend of 8600 soms per month. The total period of internship is not more than 6 months,” the Ministry explained.
To date, about 150 organizations and companies have expressed a desire to accept young people for internship with the provision of more than 1 thousand places.
To apply for and pass the internship, young people will have to apply to the territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, located in the pilot region.
The project is implemented with the support of the World Bank “Strengthening Social Security and Labor Market Programs”.
