A new reservoir is planned to be built in the Aravan district

An off-site meeting was held in the Aravan district of the Osh region with the participation of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh and the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Director of the Water Resources Service Nurlan Zhumayev.

At the meeting, a project was presented for the construction of a ten-day regulation basin (TRB) in the Dangi gorge on the Aravan-Sai River. The project involves the creation of a 17-meter-high water barrier and the laying of an 11.2-kilometer-long water channel.

The implementation of the project will solve the problem of irrigation water shortages during the growing season. Irrigation will improve over an area of 6,358 hectares, and an additional 2,000 hectares of new land will be developed.
