From 10 p.m. on 9 May 2025, the section of Chui Avenue from Abdrakhmanova Street to Shopokova Street will be completely closed to traffic.
The project, financed by private investments from Tashbolot Holding and Old Bishkek LLC, involves completely opening up the road surface, which means that restoration work will take between six and eight months. The total budget for the project is KGS 2 billion.
The city authorities are urging residents and drivers to plan their routes in advance and to be understanding of the temporary inconvenience. The closure of this section may affect public transport, so passengers are advised to check for changes to routes.
The construction of underground infrastructure is aimed at improving transport accessibility and pedestrian safety in one of the busiest areas of the capital. Once the work is completed, residents will have a modern pedestrian crossing and parking spaces, which should reduce the load on the road network in the centre of Bishkek.
Up-to-date information on the progress of construction will be available on the official websites of the city administration and construction companies.
