At the same time, in Kazakhstan, potatoes cost buyers 31.78 som per kilogram, which is slightly more expensive but still at a reasonable level.
The situation in Kyrgyzstan is slightly different. Potatoes here cost 44.64 som per kilogram — not the highest figure, but still significantly more expensive than in neighboring countries. Comparing with Russia, where the price is 60.14 som, we can conclude that potatoes are still much cheaper here than in our eastern neighbors.
As for the consumer price index in the CIS countries, according to statistics, in 2024 Belarus recorded growth of 5.7%, Kazakhstan 8.7%, Kyrgyzstan 5%, and Russia 8.5%. Thus, despite the relatively high potato prices in Kyrgyzstan, overall price growth in the country remains moderate compared to the higher rates in Russia and Kazakhstan.
