This was stated by Naira Karapetyan, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at the international conference “CIS Sugar Market 2025. A Look into the Future” on April 10 in Moscow.
At the same time, according to the EEC representative, significant amounts of high-tech means of production are imported into the Union. In order to level this situation, the Commission, within the framework of a coordinated agro-industrial policy on the basis of comprehensive reviews of the development of markets of sensitive agricultural commodities, is working out recommendations to identify possible joint measures.
“The Commission plans to approve the list of additional measures for sustainable development of the sugar market of the Union states, which envisages mastering innovative developments and technological solutions in the sphere of deep processing of sugar and by-products, as well as other measures,” Naira Karapetyan informed the conference participants.
The annual conference is traditionally attended by CIS sugar producers, specialized state bodies, trading companies and industrial consumers of sugar, producers of fertilizers and agricultural machinery, plant protection products, sugar beet seed suppliers, representatives of the banking and financial sector, as well as logistics companies.
