As of January 1, the total arrears of wages in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 42.2% compared to the same period last year.

According to the National Statistical Committee, the total arrears amounted to 100.2 million KGS.

Despite the overall decrease in arrears, the most difficult situation remains in Chui, Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad oblasts, as well as in Bishkek city. These regions together form the bulk of wage debts:

• Chui oblast - 28.3 million KGS (28.2% of the total debt);
• Issyk-Kul region - 24.4 million KGS (24.3%);
• Jalal-Abad oblast - 22.6 million KGS (22.6%);
• Bishkek city - 21.7 million KGS (21.6%).

In some regions, there are practically no debts. For example, in Talas region as of January 1, no wage arrears were recorded.

In December 2024, wage arrears amounted to 94.2% of the January level, indicating a slight increase in debts in some regions. However, in Issyk-Kul oblast the arrears increased by 5.7%, while in Jalal-Abad oblast they decreased by 42.2%.
