Kyrgyzstan's control warehouse was opened in the city of Ulugchat in China

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev within his working trip to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China took part in the opening ceremony of the control warehouse of Kyrgyzstan in the city of Ulugchat.

In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev noted that this event is an important part of the work to improve logistics with neighbouring countries, strengthen the economy and ensure convenient and smooth exchange of agricultural products. The new control warehouse, equipped with modern equipment meeting high standards, will ensure reliable passage of grain and legume crops across the border.

«Today we have witnessed an important event - the opening of a new control warehouse at the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints. The opening of this warehouse is the realisation of the agreement reached during the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the People's Republic of China. This warehouse will contribute to achieving the goal set by the leaders of the two countries to double trade turnover by 2030», — said Bakyt Torobayev.

Deputy Chairman of the People's Government of XUAR of China Ne Zang also took part in the ceremony. He noted that in accordance with the instruction of Chinese President Xi Jinping to support imports of high quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan, the Chinese side expresses its willingness to increase imports of these products.

It is worth noting that the control warehouse, oriented to the export of agricultural products of Kyrgyzstan, was built within the framework of a joint Kyrgyz-Chinese venture. The warehouse is not just an infrastructural building, but a strategic facility that meets the security requirements of logistics processes.

The control warehouse is divided into four zones: vegetables, freezing, laboratory and general cargo. The warehouse is capable of receiving more than 1 million tonnes of produce per year. In the future, it is envisaged to expand the warehouse's capacity to ensure a steady flow of not only grains and legumes, but also other goods of Kyrgyzstan's agro-industrial complex.

According to statistical data, agricultural exports from Kyrgyzstan to China in 2024 totalled almost $124 million, of which 8.6% - livestock products, 19.4% - crop products, 72% - food and processing industry products.
