Excise revenues from alcohol increased by 292 mln soms

Since the beginning of 2024, the State Tax Service (STS) of Kyrgyzstan has ensured receipt of 2 billion 726.6 million KGS of excise tax from alcoholic beverages. This figure is by 292.3 million soms more compared to the same period of 2023.

Excise taxes on alcoholic beverages produced in the country and excise taxes on products imported from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states accounted for 2 billion 351 million KGS of the total revenue.

The increase in revenues is due to the strengthening of tax control over the production and turnover of alcoholic beverages, as well as improved administration of indirect taxes. STS notes that measures to strengthen control contribute to the reduction of illegal turnover of excisable products and increase state budget revenues.

We remind that the turnover of alcoholic beverages without excise stamps or with counterfeit stamps is subject to a fine of 65 thousand soms, and for the turnover of more than 500 units of such products - imprisonment for up to 5 years.

The Tax Service strongly recommends entrepreneurs not to sell excisable products without excise stamps and carefully check their authenticity and compliance with the legislation.
