Some of the victims of the scam with the virtual asset MCN Coin MIA returned the stolen funds. This was told on air of ‘Birinchi Radio’ by Daniyar Zakirov, operative officer of the 4th Department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the official representative of the department 898 victims received compensation, they paid more than $1.7 million.

The investigation was launched as early as 12 September 2024, and the criminal case is being considered in the courts of Pervomaisky and Oktyabrsky districts of Bishkek. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to accept applications from citizens who suffered from the scheme and expect to recover their investments.

Earlier, one of the founders of MCN Coin admitted that the project was operating illegally and the organisers have no intention to return the money. However, the law enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation, and some of the victims have already managed to get their money back.
