Despite the formal ban on TikTok, users in Kyrgyzstan continue to actively use the platform, circumventing the restrictions with the help of VPN. This was stated by MP Marlen Mamataliev, commenting on the situation with the blocking of the service.

He noted that Kyrgyzstan has legally banned TikTok, but in fact it works. People continue to use it without problems.

‘Moreover, the head of TikTok's representative office in Central Asia is a Kyrgyzstani. He is ready to open an office in Kyrgyzstan, interact with law enforcement agencies, promptly respond to signals and monitor destructive elements,’ Mamataliev said.

TikTok was officially blocked in April last year. The main reason for the restrictions was the need to protect children from possible harm to their health. However, as practice shows, the ban did not affect the popularity of the service among users.
