Installation of modern ramps continues in Bishkek

Bishkek continues to implement a pilot project to install ramps that meet modern standards for people with disabilities and low mobility groups.

Mayor Aibek Junushaliev received the next ramps. This time the structures were installed near the Republican Library for Children and Youth and the Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The ramps fully meet modern standards: metal elements are primed and painted to protect against corrosion, comfortable handrails for safe use are installed, the angle of inclination of the ramps does not exceed 8 degrees, which makes them comfortable for movement.
However, during the inspection the construction inside the Opera and Ballet Theatre was not accepted. The head of the capital instructed to consider the possibility of installing a ramp at the front entrance.

Installation of ramps is an important step to ensure an accessible urban environment, where every resident, regardless of physical abilities, can move freely and safely.

The Mayor's Office notes that the project is possible thanks to the involvement of patrons of the arts, who make a significant contribution to the installation of ramps.

As a result of the visit, Aybek Junushaliyev instructed to consider the issue of improving the adjacent territories of the library and theatre, asphalt the roads, install benches and street railings.
