Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Ravshanbek Sabirov discussed issues of activity and employment with the Kyrgyz Society of the Blind and Deaf. This was reported in the press service of the agency.

The Minister was shown to the training and production enterprises of ‘KAREC’ KOS and KOG, established in 2000.

The main activity profile of ‘KAREC’ KOS and KOG Ltd. is the manufacture of small architectural forms, building structures and metal products for technical purposes, containers, non-standard devices. The Minister also visited the House of Culture built at the organisation's own expense.

During the meeting it was noted that the Kyrgyz Society of the Blind and Deaf was established almost 100 years ago and unites more than 7 thousand 600 persons with visual, hearing and general disabilities. To date, the society has 11 training and production enterprises in the regions of the country, where more than 500 members of the KOS and KOG produce about 147 items.

Ravshanbek Sabirov and representatives of the society discussed strengthening of work on placement of state orders of ministries and departments at the production enterprises of ‘KOS and KOG’ according to the range of products. The issues of standardisation of the products manufactured by the enterprises of ‘KOS and KOG’ were also voiced. Among the difficulties the lack of state orders and support, limiting the opportunities for expanding employment of disabled people, was noted.
