In the capital, ramps for people with disabilities are being installed according to modern standards

Bishkek Mayor's Office continues to work within the framework of the project to install ramps that meet modern standards for people with disabilities, as well as low mobility group of the population.

Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and New Age PF Chairman Askar Turdugulov received the next ramps.

This time the ramps were installed at the National Center for Children and Youth “Seitek” and the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

According to Bishkekgorlift, the structures fully comply with modern standards: metal elements are primed and painted to protect them from corrosion; comfortable handrails for safe use are installed; the angle of inclination of the ramps does not exceed 8 degrees, which makes them comfortable for movement.

In addition, specialists of MP “Bishkekasfaltservis” carry out work on the organization of parking spaces for people with disabilities. Special road markings were applied near the National Center for Children and Youth “Seytek”, the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abdylas Maldybaev and the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts.

Despite this, drivers without a special sticker continue to park cars on this site, thereby limiting the access of people with disabilities by car. The cars that violated traffic rules were evacuated on the spot.

Aibek Junushaliev instructed the UPSM in Bishkek to conduct raids on a regular basis to check sites where combined road signs “Parking (parking space)” with a sign “Disabled” are installed according to GOST norms.

It is worth noting that the accessible environment is important not only in terms of convenience, but also for social integration. Such changes allow people with disabilities to participate more actively in the cultural and social life of the capital.

This initiative is also of particular importance for children with disabilities. Now they can freely visit children's and youth development centers, libraries and other institutions where they can learn, develop their creative abilities and spiritual culture.
