EDB allocated a grant for the development of digital public administration in CIS countries

The Digital Initiatives Fund of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB Digital Initiatives Fund) has provided grant financing for the implementation of the international GovStack project in the CIS countries.

The corresponding agreement was signed between the EDB and National Information Technologies JSC (NIT JSC) within the framework of the Digital Almaty 2025 forum.

The GovStack project, launched in 2020 with the support of the UN, is aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of public services. The initiative is implemented by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with the governments of Estonia and Germany, as well as the Digital Impact Alliance.

Kazakhstan, represented in the project by NIT JSC, will share its experience in building e-government, developing reference architectures and re-engineering business processes. Special attention is planned to be paid to the transfer of public services into a proactive format.

The total budget of the GovStack project is $200 thousand, half of which is provided by EDB. The funding is aimed at creating a regional competence center and a web portal where ready-made open source projects will be placed for implementation in the participating countries. The project support is fully in line with the EDB FCI's objectives to develop the digital economy in the region.

The project is being implemented on the basis of a trilateral memorandum of cooperation between EDB, ITU and NIT JSC signed in August 2024.
